Prince George joins Queen Elizabeth and fellow heirs to the throne in rare new portrait
One for the history books!
The royal family released a brand new portrait on Friday that shows Queen Elizabeth posing with the three heirs to the British throne, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George.
"To mark the start of a new decade, a portrait has been released of Her Majesty The Queen and Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and Prince George," the family said alongside the photo. "The portrait was taken by Ranald Mackechnie in the Throne Room at Buckingham Palace."

The photo represents just the second portrait of the Queen and her heirs, with the first one having been released in April 2016 for her 90th birthday. It appears to have been taken on Wednesday, December 18, when the foursome got together to make Christmas pudding in support of a new initiative by the Royal British Legion.
Following the adorable moment, the Kensington Royal Instagram account shared footage on its profile that showed Elizabeth, Charles and William looking on as George stirred the contents of a big mixing bowl.

"The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and Prince George make Christmas puddings at Buckingham Palace as part of the Royal British Legion's 'Together at Christmas' initiative," the caption read. "The initiative is designed to provide extra support to the Armed Forces and veteran communities at annual festive get togethers across the charity’s network of outreach centres."
Queen Elizabeth, 93, is the longest reigning monarch in history, having ascended to the throne 68 years ago in 1952. Her son, Prince Charles, is next in line, with his oldest son, Prince William, and his oldest grandson, Prince George, the next two in line.
