Selena Gomez uses it, too.

I’m not going to name names, but I recently tried a certain $79 buzzy and hyped-up serum that broke me out like the dickens. My skin is angry and I’m self-conscious enough that I will not leave the house without makeup on. But makeup alone won’t disguise the blemishes and zits that have taken up temporary residence on my face. Epicuren’s Clarify Blemish Gel Eraser is a two-pronged solution to my current problem. It’s like a liquid bandage that primes rough skin, scabs, and pimples for even and smooth makeup application all the while healing it, too.

I first learned of Epicuren’s Clarify Blemish Eraser via Selena Gomez’s Instagram story. It was the sole skincare product on her vanity amongst a lineup of Rare Beauty products. Later that week I saw celebrity esthetician Cynthia Franco, who recommended I use the Blemish Eraser on my wounded skin. And thank god, because I don’t know how I’d be operating in public without this.

I apply this to my face throughout the day, but most importantly, right before I apply makeup. I squeeze a tiny bit of the Epicuren Blemish Eraser out and spread it over the affected area. It dries like a thin seal that heals the blemish while also protecting it from makeup and other irritating elements. It camouflages perfectly and when I remove my concealer or foundation later, the blemish has actually gone down in size, severity, and redness.

Salicylic acid, tea tree oil, and aloe vera are the hattrick responsible for the healing and blemish-blasting benefits of Epicuren’s Blemish Eraser Gel. The formula seeps into skin past the superficial layers, removes bacteria and acne-causing germs. The Blemish Gel is also anti-inflammatory, per the brand, so it reduces the size and redness of the breakouts, too.

It’s been a lifesaver in both my makeup and skincare routines. Check out the Clarify Blemish Eraser Gel for yourself at Epicuren
