PREDICTED LINE-UPS | Real Madrid v Atalanta

Pre-season silverware beckons for the winners of the Champions League and the Europa League from last season as Real Madrid and Atalanta go head-to-head against each other to lift the Super Cup.

Real Madrid are set to make the first mark of their star-studded squad following the additions of superstar Kylian Mbappe and teenage sensation Endrick. Carlo Ancelotti experimented with his line-up in the pre-season clashes and Los Blancos could only win one game out of the three, losing the other two. However, the team was not allowed to push extensively in the matches to avoid injuries and the real test begins for them from tonight. Real Madrid should have a fully fit squad except David Alaba and Eduardo Camavinga, who was injured while training last night. The Madrid giants could make history as they could become the first team ever to lift the Super Cup six times.

Meanwhile, Atalanta are aware of the gigantic task at hand to beat Real Madrid and secure the title. La Dea had to navigate through a challenging array of games in last season’s Europa League knockouts and they successfully came out after defeating Liverpool, Fiorentina and Juventus in the final. Gian Piero Gasperini took the club to a top-four finish and now they are set to play in the new format of the Champions League this season. Atalanta have been a club which has sprung up surprises throughout their history and tonight they could pull off another such upset if they play their cards well.

Here are the predicted line-ups for the match according to Sky Italia:

Real Madrid (4-3-3): Courtois; Carvajal, Militao, Rudiger, Mendy; Valverde, Tchouameni, Bellingham; Rodrygo, Mbappé, Vinicius

Atalanta (3-4-1-2): Musso; Djimsiti, Hien, Kolasinac; Zappacosta, De Roon, Ederson, Ruggeri; Pasalic; De Ketelaere, Lookman
