Prabal Gurung is bringing fashion and safety to the masses, with the idea “to reach as many people as possible” by partnering with your favorite budget store.

The New York City-based fashion designer recently teamed up with Walmart’s e-commerce site to launch his Impower label. The collection, which debuted online last week, released reversible fabric face masks as its first product.

Retailing for $14, the non-medical-grade masks are inspired by “strength and brilliance” — and they also give back.

“The Centers for Disease Control Foundation will be the donation recipient for the debut collection. All donations made to its Coronavirus Emergency Response Fund are used for medical supplies, increasing lab capacity, supporting vulnerable communities and other pandemic-related needs,” WWD reports.

Back in April, Gurung was one of the first fashion industry figures to pivot his factories into producing face masks for frontline workers. The Nepalese-American designer explained to WWD, “Right now, showing up means wearing a mask to keep you and your community safe…Wearing a mask shows the rest of the world that you care about your health and safety, and those around you.”

But this isn’t the first time the luxury designer has partnered with an affordable market. Back in 2013, Gurung created a wildly popular diffusion collection exclusively for Target. Check out the fashionable masks below.
