Portland’s Pink Martini and China Forbes announce show in Olympia. Here’s how to get tickets

Portland’s Pink Martini is returning to Olympia’s Washington Center for the Performing Arts with China Forbes for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 21. Tickets go on sale to the general public Thursday.

Pink Martini was founded in 1994 by pianist Thomas Lauderdale and includes singers China Forbes and Storm Large. According to the Washington Center’s news release, it was founded to provide soundtracks for political fundraisers for civil rights issues, affordable housing, the environment, public broadcasting and more. And the music is inclusive, featuring a wide range of genres from around the world.

Tickets for the show range from $64 to $129 and go on sale at noon Aug. 31. Subscribers and Friends of the Washington Center can access tickets starting at noon Tuesday, Aug. 29. Visit the Washington Center’s website for more information on how to purchase tickets.

According to the news release, Pink Martini has been touring the world for nearly 20 years, performing in 22 different languages. In 2014 the band was inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame and the Oregon Music Hall of Fame.

Jill Barnes, the executive director of the Washington Center, said Pink Martini regularly sells out at the Center, so she encourages people to buy tickets early.
