PGA Championship betting: Props we like ahead of the 2022 PGA at Southern Hills

There's a lot to bet on ahead of the 2022 PGA Championship.

The second major of the season kicks off on Thursday and you should be betting a lot more than simply the winner of the tournament. You can bet on every golfer to finish in the top five and the top 10 as well along with different specials and parlays. BetMGM has a wide variety of bets to make and majors are always a fun time to get creative with your golf bets.

Here are a few of the prop bets that we like ahead of the tournament. None of the bets below directly include Tiger Woods because we're unsure what his form will be and his odds are significantly shorter than they should be because of his popularity.

Corey Conners will be the top Canadian (-125)

There are just three Canadians in the field; Conners, Adam Hadwin and Mackenzie Hughes. Conners hasn’t finished outside the top 35 since he missed the cut at the Genesis in February and was sixth at the Masters in April.

A golfer from the United States will win (-115)

The odds here are low for good reason; Spain is the No. 2 home country at +900 thanks to Jon Rahm and England is at +1100. The field is too stacked with Americans not to like this bet and going with another country is essentially betting on one or two players to come through. If you want to go with anyone outside the United States, you can take the rest of the world at -105.

There will be a hole-in-one (+125)

Why not bet on a hole-in-one? With an easy pin or two on a par 3 on Thursday and Friday we’ll take better than even odds on this one and hope it cashes.

Shane Lowry, Joaquin Niemann and Brooks Koepka make the cut (+140)

This is a BetMGM special and is relying on Koepka’s health and form. He withdrew from the Byron Nelson a week ago. Lowry and Niemann have been playing well enough recently to be confident in their chances of playing on the weekend.

Jon Rahm and Justin Thomas both finish in the top 20 (+175)

Rahm is the co-favorite while Thomas is the No. 3 favorite. Anytime you can get two of the top three players on the board to finish in the top 20 at significantly plus odds you should take it.

Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas both finish in the top 10 (+475)

This is the first of our longer shot bets. Thomas should benefit from his performance at the Byron Nelson last week and it’ll be stunning if Scheffler doesn’t play well this weekend.

Cam Smith to be the top player from outside the U.S. and Europe (+600)

Smith has been turning up for big tournaments recently and is the favorite among all the players from outside the States and Europe. We’ll go with him just ahead of Hideki Matsuyama at +700.

Jordan Spieth and Xander Schauffele both finish in the top 10 (+800)

We don’t expect both this bet and the Scheffler/Thomas bet to cash. But the odds here are too tantalizing to pass up. Schauffele’s form seems to be turning a corner and Spieth is a popular pick as he goes for the career grand slam.
