This Perry running back is one of the top in the state, wins player of the week vote
Ahmad Gordon of Perry High School in Houston County has won The Telegraph’s Football Player of the Week poll for Week 2.
Gordon topped our poll with 63% of the votes.
The senior running back shined in his game against the Peach County Trojans. The Panthers took the win 49-39 to keep Perry undefeated.
Gordon ran past the Trojans with an impressive 29 carries for 181 yards rushing and two rushing touchdowns.
“Ahmad Gordon is a leader of this team and comes to practice every day ready to work and get better,” said Austin McIntyre, Perry assistant football coach.
On Friday, the Perry Panthers were scheduled to play Houston County at home.
The Telegraph will have another poll for Week 3 of the high school football season.
