In honor of March Madness, Phil Kessel and Patric Hornqvist hooked up for the Pittsburgh Penguins’ first goal with a classic alley-oop. Think of their connection like Gary Payton to Shawn Kemp or Tracey McGrady to Vince Carter.

With play in the Florida Panthers’ zone, Hornqvist drove the puck behind James Reimer’s net. There, Kessel one-timed the puck over the net where he found Hornqvist, who took a baseball bat swing and scored his Xth of the season.

The goal was Hornqvist’s first in 13 games. Pittsburgh would take control of the game in the second period when Sidney Crosby scored his 38th and 39th goals of the season to pass Brad Marchand for tops in the NHL.
