Pazzini relieved to end eight-game goal drought

Giampaolo Pazzini was delighted to end his eight-game goal drought in Serie A, as AC Milan recorded a comprehensive 5-1 win over Chievo.

The former Inter striker netted for the first time in the league since Sept. 1, and the Italian relished the change of shape that Massimiliano Allegri adopted against Eugenio Corini's side.

"I'm glad [to finally have scored], and I hope it is the first of many to come," Pazzini told Corriere dello Sport. "It had been a long time [since the last time I scored], too long perhaps. I wanted to repay the fans for their affections, and a goal is the perfect way to do that. The change to a 4-2-3-1 formation is important for me, because it means that I am not that far from goal."

The result leaves the Rossoneri in seventh place in the table, with 14 points from their first 11 games of the campaign.
