Paredes starts in Roma Primavera match vs Cagliari

Leandro Paredes will not feature for Daniele De Rossi’s team tonight.

The Argentine – who was the last player to join Roma’s preseason training camp after lifting the Copa America title – is suspended for tonight’s match against Cagliari.

This is the second suspension of a two-match ban which was handed to Paredes on the penultimate game of last season.

However, Paredes will still be playing against Cagliari, but with Roma’s youth team instead.

The player is set to start in the debut match of new Primavera coach Gianluca Falsini against Cagliari at the Tre Fontane stadium.

Paredes will wear the captain’s armband due to his seniority.

It was Daniele De Rossi who made the decision to have Paredes play tonight in order to regain the necessary fitness levels ahead of the second Serie A matchday with Empoli.
