Moose Jaw Paratransit customer dies while being transferred at hospital

A paratransit rider in Moose Jaw, Sask., died while being transferred from the bus at F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital on Monday afternoon, police say.

The person was injured around 12:20 p.m., while being transferred from a City of Moose Jaw Paratransit bus in the hospital's parking lot, and died from their injuries, according to Moose Jaw police.

"At this time the Moose Jaw Police Service are aiding the Coroners Office and will continue to provide assistance in determining the nature of this incident," police said in a Tuesday afternoon news release.

"The City of Moose Jaw sends our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of our customer," Moose Jaw city manager Jim Puffalt said in a separate news release.
