Florida Panthers star Aleksander Barkov fell awkwardly into the boards on Saturday night and needed help off the ice after suffering an apparent lower body injury.

With less than two minutes to play in the game, Boston’s Charlie McAvoy and Barkov raced for a puck in the corner and the Panthers’ forward lost his footing. Barkov’s knee wobbles under the impact of the boards and he is visibly distressed while needing teammates’ help off the the ice.

Captain Barkov is second on the team in points behind Jonathan Huberdeau, with 36 points in 31 games.

Florida fell to Boston by a score of 4-2. The Panthers have yet to comment on the state of Barkov’s injury, with the team returning to action on Monday night against Ottawa.
