'Paid assassin' Dwight Freeney's description of pass rushing is pretty much perfect

Atlanta Falcons pass rusher Dwight Freeney has 122.5 career sacks, which is 18th in NFL history. He knows a little something about getting after the quarterback.

And his preferred method is basically, whatever works.

Freeney, in a funny interview with Stack, said his pass-rush moves include a “cartwheel, backflip” or any number of tricks to get by an offensive lineman. He even joked about using a bamboo stick. At least, it seemed like he was joking.

“There is no bad move,” Freeney said.

Freeney is back in the Super Bowl for the third time in his 15-year career. He made it twice with the Indianapolis Colts, winning once. He turns 37 next month, and has been a veteran presence on the Falcons this season. He even chipped in three sacks. In the Super Bowl, who knows what tricks Freeney will come up with to try to get to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

“I’m like a paid assassin with multiple ways to kill,” Freeney said.
