Pacers reportedly hopeful All-Star Victor Oladipo will return in late January

Indiana Pacers All-Star Victor Oladipo is targeting an early February return from the ruptured quad injury he sustained nearly a year ago, with the possibility of moving that up to late January, according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski Wednesday.

Oladipo, 27, sustained the injury in an awkward fall against the Toronto Raptors on Jan. 23 of this year. He was stretchered off the court and would later undergo season-ending surgery on his right knee.

At the time, he led the Pacers in scoring with 19.2 points per game, while also contributing 5.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. The seventh-year guard has averaged 17.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game thus far in his career.

Oladipo and the team have been cautious with his return, and luckily, the Pacers got out to a strong start — they currently sit at 21-10, third in the Eastern Conference — and had no need to rush him back.
