P.K. Subban raises money for Montreal Children's Hospital through jersey signing

Montreal Canadiens' P.K. Subban spent Sunday signing jerseys with all money raised benefiting the Montreal Children's Hospital.

The Habs favourite signed Winter Classic jerseys in the atrium named after him in what was a sold-out event.

"Listen, all I did was I made a commitment to the hospital in terms of helping them raise a lot of money for a great cause and a lot of people," said Subban.

Delighted fans crammed into the atrium for the latest in a series of charitable gestures from the star defenceman.

In September, Subban pledged $10 million to the hospital. Some of the funding will be used for P.K.'s Helping Hands, which will help families struggling financially with a child's illness.

Some patients were surprised by the visit from Subban, who gave them jerseys as gifts.

He hopes to continue visiting on Sundays, a tradition that he has already started.

"I like coming on Sundays because I always feel it is a great way to start my week," said Subban. "It just grounds you."
