Everyone’s workout is different. For you, it may be long walks around the park, a 30-minute HIIT class, pilates in the living room, running on a treadmill or learning a new dance routine. But, there’s one way to kick up the intensity of each of these workouts, and that’s to add resistance in the form of ankle weights.

Ankle weights don’t have to be extremely heavy to make you feel a difference in your burn. With that in mind, we love these ones 1.5-pound and 3-pound weights from P.volve.

P.volve is actually a fitness method and class that includes resistant-based, high-intensity and low-impact strengthening movements. The company has studios in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles, and offers online workouts for streaming at home. The home workout subscription costs $19.99 per month, although six-month and yearly subscriptions offer slightly lower monthly rates.

You don’t have to be a P.volve subscriber, however, to shop the brand’s exercise equipment. And during current times, where people spend more time working out at home rather than at the gym, weights have been especially hard to come by — but P.volve is still stocked up.

In addition to ankle weights, P.volve sells exercise equipment including dumbbells, gliders, bands, mats and more.

However, the ankle weights are particularly a standout because you don’t need to change your favorite workout at all to use. Simply strap them on and go. They’re secured with velcro and filled with sand to add resistance with every step or lift. Plus, they’re especially great for toning your legs, glutes and abdominals.

“These ankle weights are comfortable to wear through my 30-minute to one-hour workout session. They are not too heavy, but the fabric is very soft and also sturdy! The color and the styles are super cute too,” one reviewer wrote on P.volve’s website.

“I like the extra resistance when doing my leg lifts, and they are nice to have on when doing pilates as well,” wrote another reviewer who bought to 1.5-pound ankle weights.

You can shop the weights and check out the video above where our hosts on this episode of “You Need This” give them a try.
