It felt like Olivia Rodrigo was already a winner when she hit the pink carpet ahead of the MTV Video Music Awards on Tuesday, September 12. The pop star arrived in a formfitting sparkly silver gown from Parisian designer Ludovic de Saint Sernin, featuring a scoop neckline and floor-skimming hem.
The 19-year-old paired the dress with simple, matchy-matchy accessories: delicate drop earrings, silver rings, and towering Roger Vivier platforms. The “Vampire” singer finished off the look with a subtle flush, rosy pink lips, and her long hair worn down and center parted.
Rodrigo is nominated for several awards tonight, including song of the year and best pop, both for “Vampire," the first single off her sophomore album, Guts, which was released just last week to rave reviews. It's her follow-up to 2021's Sour, which earned the former High School Musical, the Musical star the best new artist award two years ago.
Also in attendance at this year's VMAs? Taylor Swift, who fans believe is beefing with Olivia Rodrigo over songwriting credits on Sour. (More on that here.) Will they kiss and makeup at the 2023 VMAs? Stay tuned.
