Oklahoma cornerback Parrish Cobb has been suspended following the issue of a warrant for his arrest.

Cobb was wanted regarding armed robbery allegations around Waco, Texas. According to the Waco Tribune, Cobb has been identified as a suspect in an armed robbery that allegedly occurred on Jan. 10 and, per the AP Wednesday morning, was arrested Tuesday night.

“We are aware that an arrest warrant has been issued and are making arrangements for Mr. Cobb to turn himself in,” Cobb’s attorney John Lewis told the Tribune before his client’s arrest. “We look forward to addressing these allegations at the appropriate time.”

A man said he was robbed at gunpoint while at a convenience store in Bellmead, Texas. Someone got out of a car, robbed the man, returned to the vehicle and drove away.

Last week, a courthouse source with direct knowledge of the investigation said officers executed a search warrant on a Dodge Challenger registered to a member of Cobb’s family. The car also had a University of Oklahoma parking pass on a window when it was searched.

“We believe Cobb participated in the armed robbery,” Martin said.

Oklahoma announced Cobb’s suspension Tuesday evening. The school said it was “aware of the matter” and the allegations would be reviewed by the school “consistent with its student conduct process.”

According to the Tribune, another robbery took place earlier Jan. 10 involving a dark-colored car and Baylor police reported a robbery on Jan. 7. Authorities believe the cases could be connected.

Cobb, a freshman in 2016, played in four of 13 games with two starts and had seven tackles. The four-star cornerback was originally a Baylor commit, but was one of the school’s recruits allowed to attend a new school following the firing of former coach Art Briles in May. He signed with Oklahoma in July.
