BARRIE, Ont. — Ethan Cardwell and Evan Vierling each had two goals and two assists and Anson Thornton stopped 38 shots to post the shutout as the Barrie Colts bid farewell to 2022 with their own offensive fireworks in crushing the Guelph Storm 8-0 in Ontario Hockey League action on Saturday.

Adding singles for the Colts (17-9-4-2) were Jacob Frasca, Beau Jelsma, Cole Beaudoin and Tai York.

The Storm (13-18-3-1) outshot the Colts 38-31, but trailed 5-0 after the first period and 8-0 heading into the final frame.
