Official: two Fiorentina stars out of squad for Pafos clash
Fiorentina named a 23-player squad for their UEFA Conference League home clash with Pafos, which doesn’t include Yacine Adli and Albert Gudmundsson.
The Viola host the Cypriot side at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Thursday evening.
While the Iceland international was already expected to be ruled out of the game, as he’s recovering from a muscular injury picked up in late October, the midfield cornerstone’s absence comes as surprising news.
According to Violanews, coach Raffaele Palladino opted to exclude Adli from the squad as he was not in perfect condition after receiving a blow during his side’s game at Como last weekend.
As a result, he preferred to rest the former Milan player to have him fully fit for his outfit’s home meeting against Inter on Sunday in Serie A, which could also see Gudmundsson return to the team.
