It's Official, Ronda Rousey Faces Bethe Correia at UFC 190

Ahead of Ronda Rousey Bout, Bethe Correia Inks Lengthy New UFC Deal

UFC president Dana White officially announced on Friday that women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey would face Bethe Correia in the UFC 190 main event on August 1.

“UFC 190 will take place at the HSBC Arena right here in Rio. It will feature Bethe Correia vs. Ronda Rousey,” said White during the UFC 189 World Tour press conference in Brazil, before surprising fans with both women then joining in for questions.

Correia is undefeated (9-0) and has been calling for a bout against Rousey since arriving in the UFC. After defeating two of Rousey’s close friends and teammates: Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler, Correia has been granted the title fight.

Rousey (11-0) asked to face Correia following her UFC 184 title defense against Cat Zingano on Feb. 28 and offered to take the fight in Correia's home country of Brazil.
