Odell Beckham Jr., Brandin Cooks to visit Jets

The New York Jets were unable to land Sidney Rice, with the receiver re-signing with Seattle after a visit to the Big Apple.

Now, the Jets' attention at receiver will turn back to the draft as two prospects have scheduled visits, according to a report from the New York Daily News. LSU's Odell Beckham Jr. and Oregon State's Brandin Cooks are scheduled to meet with the Jets.

The two receivers are under 6-0, but don't let that get in the way of their playmaking ability. Both are strong receivers with big frames and can be used in many different ways in pro-style offenses.

Cooks is an intriguing option this draft, given that he went for 1,730 yards and 16 touchdowns a season ago with the Beavers. He can go deep, work the middle of the field and take short passes into big gains. He's been compared to both DeSean Jackson and Steve Smith.

Beckham doesn't possess the kind of speed Cooks has, but is a fluid route-runner. He posted a 38.5-inch vertical leap at the NFL combine in February, showcasing his ability to go up and win jump balls. He also can be used as a special teams threat in the return game.

Both receivers figure to be drafted in the first round in what's one of the deepest classes in recent years.
