North Myrtle Beach police say the suspect in a May 26 robbery at a Walmart made off with $2,000 and remains at large after fleeing into a nearby wooded area.

Authorities say the person, who was wearing a Scooby-Doo hooded sweatshirt, mask and camouflage pants, dropped $800 in the parking lot before taking off on foot between the Walmart and a Lowes Home Improvement store.

Police spokesman Pat Wilkinson said the suspect grabbed a cash register in the store’s electronics section and smashed it.

Officials said the suspect did not brandish a weapon and ask anyone with information to call the department’s tip line at 843-447-9376.
