Norm Powell exits game vs Jazz with ankle injury, will not return

Just as Norm Powell hit another high in his career, some hard injury luck has popped up to rob him of the good feeling.

Fresh off being named Eastern Conference Player of the Week, the Toronto Raptors guard collided with teammate OG Anunoby just over a minute into Monday night’s game against the Utah Jazz and limped off the court with the help of trainers.

Powell suffered a left ankle sprain on the play and will not return to the game.

Powell has dealt with plenty of injury adversity, most recently missing nine games in February with a fractured finger on his left hand. Earlier this season, he missed 11 games in December and January with a shoulder injury.

Despite all the time lost, Powell has enjoyed a career year while on the court. He is averaging career highs in points (16.8), rebounds (3.7), assists (1.8), steals (1.3), and minutes (29.5) per game.
