In this episode of Home Hacks, you’ll learn how to create your own non-Newtonian liquid at home. Let’s talk science: A non-Newtonian fluid is defined as a liquid that does not follow Newton’s law of viscosity. Ultimately, a non-Newtonian fluid will change under force to be either more liquid or more solid.

Supplies you need:

How to make non-Newtonian liquid:

  • 2.5 cups of corn starch

  • 1 cup of water

  • 1 tablespoons of paint

  1. After all ingredients are in a medium-sized mixing bowl, mix until well incorporated.

  2. Add more corn starch or water if needed to reach the consistency shown in the video.

  3. Mix until smooth consistency is reached.

  4. Watch how it will form into a solid or melt like a liquid under different scenarios.
