Noah Taylor, Dan Gronkowski invited to super regional combine

Two brothers of famous athletes will head to the NFL super regional scouting combine in Detroit this weekend to try and make a name for themselves on their own.

Noah Taylor, the younger brother of retired NFL defensive end Jason Taylor, and Dan Gronkowski, the brother of Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski received invites to the event after their regional combine workouts this spring.

Taylor worked out at the Baltimore regional combine while Gronkowski participated in the Miami regional. Another Gronkowski brother, Chris Gronkowski, did not receive a super regional invite after injuring his hamstring during the 40-yard dash during his Miami workout.

Taylor will be a rookie looking to follow in his legendary brother's footsteps. At California University of Pennsylvania, a Division II school, Taylor, a 6-3, 250-pound prospect, played multiple spots along the defensive line. He's also preparing himself for the possibility of being an outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme.

"Honestly, I'll play wherever they want me to play," Taylor said at the Baltimore regional combine on March 31. "I'm not one of those guys that needs five pairs of sneakers or six pairs of gloves. As caveman as it sounds, I just like to hit people. I've done both, I've done linebacker and defensive line. It's a different approach, but when I train, I train myself for both. If someone gets down, that's your opportunity. You have to be prepared all the time."

The super regional scouting combine will take place on April 12-13 at Detroit's Ford Field.
