No, Danica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse didn't get engaged Saturday
Danica Patrick had some people forgetting what Saturday’s date was.
Patrick posted a picture to Instagram of herself kissing boyfriend (and fellow Cup Series driver) Ricky Stenhouse Jr. A ring was on Patrick’s left hand and the caption simply said “Well …”

As you can imagine, the couple started getting congratulations on a purported engagement by many NASCAR fans and those associated with the sport. But given that Saturday was April 1, it was a good idea to be skeptical about Patrick and Stenhouse’s “engagement.” And, date aside, who gets engaged in what looks to be a parking lot on a Martinsville race weekend?
What they should have been getting was congratulations on an April fool well done. Patrick posted Sunday morning that the “engagement” was just a ruse.
Just swinging and thinking about how good I got you all on April fools…. ????????

While the date was a pretty good giveaway that Patrick and Stenhouse weren’t actually engaged, we are a bit curious as to why they chose it, among many other possible pranks, to be their April fool.
The couple has been dating since 2012 and Patrick said in a slightly-awkward Fox interview in April of 2015 that she would say yes if Stenhouse ever proposed.
