Nigel Reo-Coker believes Chelsea look like a team and shares what is “scary” about the Blues
Former West Ham player Nigel Reo-Coker believes Chelsea now look like a team but can’t see them competing for the title this season.
The Blues moved back into the top three with a convincing 3-0 win against Aston Villa, which was arguably their best performance of season.
Enzo Maresca’s men have lost just two of their 13 league matches this season and remain well on track to qualify for the Champions League.
Reo-Coker can’t see Chelsea competing for the title
Chelsea are currently nine points behind leaders Liverpool and have certainly exceeded many people’s expectations so far.
Maresca deserves huge credit for the job he’s done and in a short space of time he’s implemented a clear identity and style of play.
The feel good factor is back around Chelsea and it feels like the club is the most stable it’s been both on and off the pitch in the last two years.
With Chelsea doing well there’s been conversation about whether the Blues are in a title race, something Maresca has played down on multiple occasions, whilst Cole Palmer has said it’s too early for the team to compete.
Reo-Coker has now shared his thoughts and although he praised Chelsea he just can’t see them forcing their way into the title conversation.
“I don’t see them forcing themselves into a title argument,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live as cited on X.com.
“But they are definitely up there in that top four conversation. They look like a team now, they look really good. They do still have moments of vulnerabilities, but their attacking power is scary. They have so many options.”
