NHL Three Stars: Trocheck's late winner; Smith, Langhamer team up for Coyotes
No. 1 Star: Vincent Trocheck, Florida Panthers
Trocheck’s goal with 4.6 seconds left in the third period helped give the Panthers the two points in a 2-1 victory over the St. Louis Blues. Kyle Brodziak tied the game for the Blues earlier in the third period, but it was Trocheck’s shot through a big screen that extended his point streak to six games and earned the win.
No. 2 Stars: Mike Smith / Marek Langhamer, Arizona Coyotes
The Coyotes’ goaltending tandem teamed up to help them beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-2. Smith made 27 saves before being taken out of the game due to concussion concerns and Langhamer, making his NHL debut, played the final 15:31 and stopped six of seven shots he faced, including a very late chance by Sami Vatanen.
No. 3 Star: James Reimer, Florida Panthers
Reimer made 26 saves for his eighth win in his last 11 appearances. One of this saves included this robbery of Jori Lehtera:
