NHL Three Stars: Bruins stay hot under Cassidy; Flames win fourth straight

No. 1 Star: Patrice Bergeron, Boston Bruins

Bergeron scored two goals and added an assist in a 6-3 win over the Dallas Stars. The Bruins moved to 6-1-0 under interim coach Bruce Cassidy and also jumped into third place in the Atlantic Division with 70 points. Bergeron now has 13 points in nine games during the month of February.

No. 2 Star: Johnny Gaudreau, Calgary Flames

Gaudreau scored two goals and added an assist in a 3-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes. The Flames have won four straight and picked up points in six consecutive games – a stretch where they have gone 5-0-1. Calgary now has 70 points – six clear of the Los Angeles Kings, the last team out of the playoffs in the Western Conference. The Kings have two games in hand on the Flames. In his last four games Gaudreau has picked up eight points – two goals and six assists.

No. 3 Star: Craig Anderson, Ottawa Senators

Anderson stopped 37 of 38 shots on goal to help his team to a 2-1 victory over the Florida Panthers. With the victory, Anderson improved to 16-8-1 on the season with a 2.31 goal-against average and .929 save percentage. The Senators now have 72 points – two behind the Montreal Canadiens for first place in the Atlantic Division. Ottawa has two games in hand on the Habs.
