June 30 (The Sports Xchange) - Two weeks after winning the Stanley Cup, the Chicago Blackhawks made a multi-player deal on Tuesday. The Blackhawks traded forwards Brandon Saad and Alex Broadhurst and defenseman Michael Paliotta to the Columbus Blue Jackets for forwards Artem Anisimov, Marko Dano, Jeremy Morin and Corey Tropp, and a fourth-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft. Saad, 22, posted career bests in goals (23), assists (29), points (52) and ice time (17:15) in 82 regular-season games for the Blackhawks last season. He was the team's third-leading goal scorer and finished fourth in points. In Chicago's postseason run to the title, he added eight goals and 11 points in 23 games. -- The San Jose Sharks acquired goaltender Martin Jones from the Boston Bruins in exchange for a 2016 first-round draft selection and unsigned draft pick Sean Kuraly. The Sharks also announced that the team issued qualifying offers to goaltender Aaron Dell and forward Daniil Tarasov but did not extend offers to goalie JP Anderson, defenseman Taylor Doherty and forwards Eriah Hayes and Rylan Schwartz, making the latter four unrestricted free agents. In another move, the Sharks re-signed defenseman Brenden Dillon to a five-year contract. -- The Anaheim Ducks added a veteran defenseman to their roster, acquiring 34-year-old Kevin Bieksa from the Vancouver Canucks in a trade for a second-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft. Bieksa dealt with a broken hand during the 2014-15 season and finished with four goals, 10 assists and 77 penalty minutes in 69 games for the Canucks. -- The Winnipeg Jets re-signed unrestricted free agent forward Drew Stafford to a two-year, $8.7 million contract. The 29-year-old Stafford totaled 18 goals and 25 assists in 78 games last season, including nine goals and 19 points in 26 games for the Jets. -- The Detroit Red Wings signed defenseman Brendan Smith to a two-year contract. The team did not provide financial terms of the deal, but it was reported to be worth $5.5 million for two years. -- The New York Islanders reached agreement on a four-year contract with high-scoring young forward Anders Lee. Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team. -- Defenseman Adam McQuaid agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Boston Bruins. The extension runs through the 2018-19 season at an NHL cap figure of $2.75 million per year. -- Defenseman Andrej Sustr signed a two-year, $2.9 million contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Sustr, 24, played in 72 games with the Lightning this past season, recording 13 assists and 34 penalty minutes. -- The Minnesota Wild extended qualifying offers to defensemen Jonathon Blum and Christian Folin, right wingers Brett Bulmer and Jared Knight, centers Mikael Granlund and Erik Haula and goaltender Johan Gustafsson. Restricted free agent left winger Curt Gogol and defenseman Colton Jobke did not receive qualifying offers from the Wild. -- The Calgary Flames reached agreement with recently acquired forward Dougie Hamilton on a multiyear contract. Financial terms were not announced, but TSN reported that Hamilton received a six-year contract worth $34.5 million. -- Forward Brian Flynn reached agreement on a two-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens. Flynn, 26, joined Montreal in March from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick.
