Feb 9 (The Sports Xchange) - Toronto and Ottawa completed a nine-player swap on Tuesday that sent defenseman Dion Phaneuf from the Maple Leafs to the Senators. In exchange for Phaneuf, the Maple Leafs will receive forwards Milan Michalek, Colin Greening and Tobias Lindberg, defenseman Jared Cowen and a 2017 second-round draft pick. The Senators also are adding defenseman Cody Donaghey and forwards Casey Bailey, Matt Frattin and Ryan Rupert. - - Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin won't return until at least next week while continuing to recover from an undisclosed lower-body injury. Malkin, a four-time All-Star, was injured Feb. 2 in a 6-5 win over the Ottawa Senators and he has missed the Penguins' last three games. - - Arizona recalled forward Tyler Gaudet from the Coyotes' AHL Springfield affiliate. The 22-year-old Gaudet has averaged 12:37 of ice time and registered an assist in five games with the Coyotes this season. - - A lower-body injury has sidelined Montreal defenseman Jeff Petry, who was not in the lineup when the Canadiens faced Tampa Bay on Tuesday night. Petry is tied with P.K. Subban for the lead in defenseman goals with five. - - The Edmonton Oilers assigned defenseman Griffin Reinhart to Bakersfield of the American Hockey League.
