NHL Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Player Pickups Nov. 14 - Last Call For Vilardi; Cozens, Boqvist Get A Chance

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies can be used in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.

Forwards

Gabriel Vilardi, C/RW, WPG at TB (50% rostered)

As I noted last time, wait any longer and Vilardi will no longer be available in most leagues. He's streaky, but I like that his shot volume has been very good, registering at least three shots on goal in eight straight games. Andrei Vasilevskiy and the Lightning aren't as intimidating as they used to be, and no team in the league is running hotter than the Jets right now. Vilardi's on a eight-game points streak with six goals and 10 points.

Anton Lundell, C, FLA vs. NJ (47% rostered)
Jesper Boqvist, C, FLA vs. NJ (0% rostered)

Sam Bennett is doubtful to play, and with Anton Lundell sticking with Eetu Luostarinen, it means Boqvist is expected to center the second line between Carter Verhaeghe and Matthew Tkachuk. This is a very good opportunity for Boqvist, who doesn't have the skill set of an offensive forward but might pick up a point or two just based on deployment. I still expect Lundell to skate more minutes overall than Boqvist, which makes him the better streaming option.

Dylan Cozens

Dennis Schneidler-Imagn Images

JJ Peterka, LW/RW, BUF vs. STL (43% rostered)
Dylan Cozens, C, BUF vs. STL (23% rostered)

I maintain that Peterka's worth a season-long hold and he's riding a four-game points streak. He might be the most dangerous winger on that Sabres team.

With Tage Thompson likely a game-time decision - he was hurt last game and did not return - look for Cozens to be their top center. Ryan McLeod filled in for Thompson between Zach Benson and Alex Tuch, but he's a checking center. For scoring, the Sabres will turn to Cozens, who's expected to play with Peterka and Jack Quinn.

Tyler Seguin, C/RW, DAL vs. BOS (26% rostered)

If you have the space for him, Seguin can be a season-long hold. He won't play 82 games - injuries have caught up and he's not durable - but he remains a point-per-game threat when he plays. The Stars' line with Seguin, Matt Duchene and Mason Marchment (honorable mention below, coming off a five-point game) has been excellent all season, and the Bruins are no longer a stalwart defensive team.

Anthony Cirelli, C, TB vs. WPG (15% rostered)

Not that the Lightning power play has been particularly good without Brayden Point - they're ranked 21st - but it's worth noting Cirelli has replaced Mitchell Chaffee on the top power play in Point's absence. Cirelli is a low-upside offensive player in fantasy because scoring isn't really his primary role on the Lightning, but exposure to PP1 and Nikita Kucherov should at least give him a small boost in fantasy value.

Jonathan Lekkerimaki, RW, VAN vs. NYI (7% rostered)

Lekkerimaki was assigned to the minors on Wednesday, but the Canucks have been making paper moves all season to accrue cap space. With Dakota Joshua still doubtful, look for Lekkerimaki to potentially play his second game. His NHL debut was eventful with a few scoring chances, and while he did not register a point, it was noteworthy he replaced Pius Suter on PP1 midway through the game. The upside is evident, and he's a sneaky play though the Isles have really good goaltending.

Defensemen

Owen Power, D, BUF vs. STL (37% rostered)
Bowen Byram, D, BUF vs. STL (28% rostered)

Tough call between the two Sabres defenders, both of whom play PP2. It depends on what you like; Power is more steady and offers more shots and blocks, while Byram offers more hits and potentially more goals even though he tends to shoot less. Byram's minutes are trending higher, however, since he plays with Ramus Dahlin on the top pairing at even strength.

Emil Andrae, D, PHI at OTT (0% rostered)

With Cam York on IR, look for Andrae to stay in the lineup. As he should, too; in their previous game, Andrae trailed only Travis Sanheim in ice time, and finished with a power-play assist and four shots on goal in 25:40 TOI. He's very dynamic with the puck, more so than any other Flyers defender, and if John Tortorella wants to play fast, Andrae's going to get plenty of ice time. He had plenty of chances to score more points in his last game and possesses some short-term upside as their PP QB.

Honorable mention:

Josh Norris, C, OTT vs. PHI (25% rostered) - L2, PP1
Vladislav Namestnikov, C/LW, WPG at TB (14% rostered) - L2, PP2
Cole Perfetti, C/LW, WPG at TB (36% rostered) - L2, PP2
Stefan Noesen, LW/RW, NJ at FLA (40% rostered) - L3, PP1
William Eklund, LW, SJ at NYR (10% rostered) - L2, PP2
Pavel Zacha, C/LW, BOS at DAL (12% rostered) - L1, PP1
Mason Marchment, LW, DAL vs. BOS (28% rostered) - L3
Anders Lee, LW, NYI at VAN (15% rostered) - L1, PP1
Kyle Palmieri, RW, NYI at VAN (20% rostered) - L2, PP2
Jean-Gabriel Pageau, C, NYI at VAN (6% rostered) - L1, PP1

Uvis Balinskis, D, FLA vs. NJ (2% rostered) - L3, PP1
Timothy Liljegren, D, SJ at NYR (1% rostered) - L2, PP1
Lane Hutson, D, MON at MIN (35% rostered) - L2, PP2
