NHL Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Defensemen Pickups Dec. 14 - A Healthy Dose Of Raddysh

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies can be used in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.

Owen Power, BUF at WSH (36% rostered)

I don't think Lindy Ruff is ready to healthy scratch Owen Power (and other key Sabres players) just yet, and note Power has been their preferred option on PP1 with Rasmus Dahlin unavailable. Power was benched briefly but the Sabres are in dire straits with an eight-game losing streak, and they'll need Power's hot hand. He's scored four points during his three-game points streak.

Michael Kesselring, D, UTA at SJ (14% rostered)

The Sharks are strong at home but very poor defensively everywhere. Kesselring has been a quiet but effective contributor all season with points (15), shots (52), blocks (25) and hits (37), and his role on PP2 gives him a little extra boost.

Alex Vlasic, D, CHI at NJ (11% rostered)

Vlasic registered two assists in his previous game and he's slowly but surely becoming known in fantasy circles. (Yours truly has been sounding the horn on Vlasic since Seth Jones' injury). Vlasic should be a great option in deep leagues. Note, however, that the Devils should dominate puck possession in this matchup, but that just means instead of points, Vlasic will collect blocked shots instead.

Darren Raddysh, TB at SEA (0% rostered)

With Victor Hedman a surprise scratch (lower body) Thursday against the Flames and J.J. Moser doubtful for Saturday, look for Raddysh to quarterback the Lightning's frightening power play. He scored a power-play assist and added two shots on goal with a plus-3 rating with a season-high 23:38 TOI in an 8-3 win.

The Kraken will be much more stingy than that, but Raddysh is a great streaming option as he's pushed way up the depth chart due to the Lightning's banged-up defense.

Honorable mention:

Lane Hutson, D, MON at WPG (43% rostered)
Matt Roy, D, WSH vs. BUF (10% rostered)
