Nguyen takes gold at world junior figure skating

SOFIA, Bulgaria (AP) -- Nam Nguyen of Canada has won a gold medal at the world junior figure skating championships, beating Russia's Adian Pitkeev, and American Nathan Chen took bronze.

The 15-year-old Nguyen landed two triple Axels in a clean long program Saturday to win with 217.06 points overall. He is coached by former Olympic silver medalist

Brian Orser, who also works with Olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan.
