March 30 (The Sports Xchange) - Wide receiver DeSean Jackson will visit the Washington Redskins on Monday, his first visit since being released by the Philadelphia Eagles, according to multiple reports. Washington is among several teams, including the Oakland Raiders, New York Jets, Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks, reportedly interested in the 27-year-old Jackson, who was released on Friday. The NFL Network reported the Kansas City Chiefs are no longer interested in Jackson. Chiefs coach Andy Reid drafted Jackson in 2008 and coached him for five years with the Eagles. Jackson's surprising release from the Eagles came two years after he signed a five-year contract extension. He was due $10.5 million this year and $30.5 million over the rest of the deal, but none of it was guaranteed. - - - Baltimore Ravens running back Bernard Pierce said his surgically repaired rotator cuff is improving and he expects to be ready for training camp in July, according to the Baltimore Sun. Pierce, who had right shoulder surgery in January, averaged just 2.9 yards per carry last season after an impressive rookie year in which he averaged 4.9 yards per rush. Pierce, 23, dealt with shoulder, hamstring, toe and knee injuries in 2013. He had 436 yards on 152 carries. - - - Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin said he expects to be medically cleared in time for the start of organized team activities next month, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Martin is recovering from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder that ended his 2013 season. The 25-year-old Martin rushed for 1,454 yards and 11 touchdowns as a rookie but gained just 456 yards and scored one touchdown in six games last season.
