NFL-Denver lead Carolina 10-0 after first quarter of Super Bowl

By Larry Fine SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb 7 (Reuters) - The underdog Denver Broncos rode their top-ranked defense to grab a 10-0 lead over the Carolina Panthers after the first quarter of Super Bowl 50 at Levi's Stadium on Sunday. Von Miller, one of the key players on a Denver squad that led the National Football League in sacks this season, roared into the backfield and hit Carolina quarterback Cam Newton from the right side while ripping the ball from his hands. Defensive end Malik Jackson scooped it up in the end zone for a touchdown. That score came about four minutes after Denver's Brandon McManus kicked a 34-yard field goal on the game's opening drive as quarterback Peyton Manning came out firing with passes on the first four plays before handing off to C.J.
