Yahoo Sports NFL reportedly won't move trade deadline off Election Day despite league facilities being closed
The NFL sent a memo to teams Wednesday detailing procedures to close club facilities for Election Day. Nowhere in the letter did it mention that Nov. 3 is also the NFL’s trade deadline.
That’s a major overlap of events.

At this time, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, there is no talk of moving the transactional deadline. The memo sent to teams, also reported by Pelissero on Wednesday, gives information on how the league will handle business that day.
NFL memo on how to handle trades, signings
The league announced in late August that the NFL and team facilities will be closed for Election Day. It is to “allow all players and staff to have an opportunity to vote and for non-player staff to engaged in safe and appropriate work on Election Day [for example, as a poll worker].”
The memo addressed questions that arose since then and allows for a lot of people to be at work anyway. It stresses for clubs to “minimize the number of staff who are present on Election Day.”
In relation to the trade deadline, per the memo:
“Third, coaches, player personnel and video staff may be present to prepare for the coming week’s game; to evaluate possible player transactions; and for other purposes. Free-agent tryouts may occur at the facility and the league office will be staffed to handle all player personnel transactions.”
Club medical staff, players receiving treatment, teams with COVID-19 testing that day and “necessary personnel” such as IT and security employees are also allowed at the facility.
