New NHL All-Star commercial goes Hollywood with Patrick Kane

The National Hockey League All-Star Game is headed to Los Angeles later this month for what should be a grand celebration: The 3-on-3 tournament on NBC, in a weekend that features the rest of the Top 100 Players of All-Time list being revealed.

Besides … it’s Hollywood! And when the NHL comes to Hollywood, you get “The Love Guru.” Wait, no, bad example … when the NHL comes to Hollywood, you get commercials for the All-Star Game like this, featuring All-Star players giving line readings that are slightly flatter than a pancake in the middle of an interstate.

  • Still, at least Kane attempts to do something interesting with his appearance. Every time Sidney Crosby is asked to do something like this, it’s like they have to edit out “OK CAN I GO NOW … PRACTICE IS STARTING?!” immediately after his line reading.
