NBA Power Rankings: Plenty of teams looking to make moves

1. Golden State Warriors (Record: 42-9; last week: 2): The Warriors have not been receiving a lot of trade calls because of their success this season, a source told Yahoo Sports.

2. Memphis Grizzlies (Record: 39-14; last week: 3) The surging Grizzlies appear to be the only team that poses a real threat to the Warriors for the top playoff seed in the Western Conference.

3. Atlanta Hawks (Record: 43-11; last week: 1): Keep an eye on Atlanta, which is 3-3 in February, regarding free agent Ray Allen. The Hawks have the East’s top record and nearly $5 million in cap space.

4. Toronto Raptors (Record: 36-17; last week: 6): Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri has long been infatuated with power forward David West, but it’s hard to see Indiana dealing him with Paul George trying to return.

5. Cleveland Cavaliers (Record: 33-22; last week: 5): The Cavaliers are interested in acquiring a big man, but former Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire doesn’t appear to be on their list.

6. Houston Rockets (Record: 36-17; last week: 4): It is a little odd that Houston is often interested in re-acquiring former players. This time it’s Phoenix Suns point guard Goran Dragic.

7. San Antonio Spurs (Record: 34-19; last week: 7): Amar’e Stoudemire could be a solid acquisition for the Spurs, but he recently told Yahoo Sports it will be hard for him to play in back-to-back games.

8. Portland Trail Blazers (Record: 36-17; last week: 8): With Nicolas Batum struggling with inconsistency this season, Portland has its eye on adding a small forward.

9. Chicago Bulls (Record: 34-20; last week: 10): Keep an eye on Derrick Rose, who averaged 21.5 points in the six games before the All-Star Break.

10. Dallas Mavericks (Record: 36-19; last week: 9): In addition to Amar’e Stoudemire, the Mavericks also still have interest in fellow veteran free-agent big man Jermaine O’Neal, who lives in Dallas.

11. Los Angeles Clippers (Record: 35-19; last week: 11): The Clippers have two roster spots available to accommodate recently bought-out free agents. A small forward and power forward are sorely needed.

12. Washington Wizards (Record: 33-21; last week: 12): The Wizards, who only have one roster spot available, are in the market for a speedy backup point guard for John Wall and a shooter.

13. Milwaukee Bucks (Record: 30-23; last week: 14): The Bucks have a tough challenge in trying to buy out troubled forward Larry Sanders, who has three more years and $33 million left on his contract.

14. Oklahoma City Thunder (Record: 28-25; last week: 16): The Thunder may still try to find a way to land Nets center Brook Lopez before Thursday’s trade deadline.

15. Phoenix Suns (Record: 29-25; last week: 15): The Suns are inclined to keep Goran Dragic, a source said. Suns owner Robert Sarver attended agent Bill Duffy’s annual All-Star event Sunday. Duffy is Dragic’s agent.

16. New Orleans Pelicans (Record: 27-26; last week: 13): Anthony Davis is expected to return from a shoulder sprain Friday at Orlando. New Orleans is 1½ games out of the West playoff race.

17. Miami Heat (Record: 22-30; last week: 18): Keep an eye on backup point guard Norris Cole as the trade deadline approaches. Cole is on the trading block and a lot of teams could use him.

18. Charlotte Hornets (Record: 22-30; last week: 17): Guard Lance Stephenson is still being shopped by the Hornets, a source said.

19. Utah Jazz (Record: 19-34; last week: 19): Guard Trey Burke and center Enes Kanter could be on the move; guard Dante Exum and center Rudy Gobert make them expendable.

20. Indiana Pacers (Record: 21-33; last week: 21): Paul George told Yahoo Sports he has no interest in playing in the D-League before returning to the NBA, which he hopes will be mid-March.

21. Boston Celtics (Record: 20-31; last week: 24): The Celtics are expected to buy out veteran Tayshaun Prince if he doesn’t get traded. A D-League player could then follow.

22. Detroit Pistons (Record: 21-33; last week: 23): The Pistons aren’t expected to be active at the trade deadline. If anything, Detroit could acquire a backup point guard.

23. Brooklyn Nets (Record: 21-31; last week: 22): The Nets are still aggressively trying to move Brook Lopez before the trade deadline, a source told Yahoo Sports. A fire sale could help a future team sale.

24. Denver Nuggets (Record: 20-33; last week: 25): Keep an eye on guard Arron Afflalo and swingman Wilson Chandler at the trade deadline. Portland could have interest in Chandler.

25. Sacramento Kings (Record: 18-34; last week: 20): The camp for Jason Thompson, the longest-tenured Kings player, would prefer that he is traded before the deadline, a source said.

26. Philadelphia 76ers (Record: 12-41; last week: 26) While Philadelphia isn’t being very aggressive at the deadline, the franchise does have interest in young talent and draft picks.

27. Minnesota Timberwolves (Record: 11-42; last week: 28) Combo forward Thaddeus Young could be a valuable trade-deadline addition for a playoff team.

28. Orlando Magic (Record: 17-39; last week: 29): Orlando could have a hard time trading expendable forward Andrew Nicholson, who has $2.4 million remaining on his contract next season.

29. New York Knicks (Record: 10-43; last week: 27): It’s doubtful Andrea Bargnani or Jose Calderon will be traded, but a smaller deal could happen, a source said.

30. Los Angeles Lakers (Record: 13-40; last week: 30): The Lakers should do everything they can to try to find some value for Steve Nash’s expiring contract before the trade deadline.
