April 4 (The Sports Xchange) - The NBA announced Friday that Milwaukee Bucks center Larry Sanders is suspended without pay for five games for violating terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program. Sanders' suspension begins the next NBA regular season game for which he is eligible and physically able to play. Sanders is out for the season after having surgery on Feb. 13 to repair orbital bone fractures he sustained from taking an elbow to his left eye. He averaged 7.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 23 games this season. - - - The Philadelphia 76ers signed guard Casper Ware to a second 10-day contract. Ware has played five games with the Sixers this season, averaging 3.6 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 14.2 minutes. (Editing by Gene Cherry)
