NBA-National Basketball Association roundup

Oct 21 (The Sports Xchange) - Toronto Raptors forward Jared Sullinger could miss some time at the beginning of the season because of a lingering left foot injury, coach Dwane Casey said on Friday. "He may be a little while before he comes back," Casey told reporters before the Raptors' preseason finale against the Washington Wizards. Sullinger's foot was stepped on during the Raptors' 97-93 win over the Golden State Warriors in their preseason opener on Oct. 1. He scored seven points and grabbed 10 rebounds over 23 minutes in that contest. The former Ohio State standout and No. 21 overall pick in the 2012 draft hasn't played since, but is shooting jump shots at practice. "He'll get it checked out," Casey said. "He's going to get another opinion, get it looked at, because it's been sore for a while now." Sullinger, 24, signed a one-year deal worth a reported $6 million to join the Raptors over the offseason. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Boston Celtics, averaging 11.1 points and 7.7 rebounds. - - - The Memphis Grizzlies added some depth to their frontcourt by signing forward JaKarr Sampson on Friday. In 26 games (20 starts), he averaged 11.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 29.1 minutes per game. He also played professionally in Germany. Galloway played collegiately with South Carolina (2009-11) and La Salle (2011-13). Randle was released despite breaking the orbital bone near his left eye earlier this month. - - - The Chicago Bulls waived guard Spencer Dinwiddie on Friday, decreasing their roster to 14. Dinwiddie, 23, was acquired in a trade with the Detroit Pistons for forward Cameron Bairstow on June 17. The Bulls waived him on July 7, but re-signed him on July 28. In five preseason games, Dinwiddie averaged 6.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists over 14.9 minutes per contest. - - - The Sacramento Kings exercised their third-year option on forward/center Willie Cauley-Stein on Friday.
