Yahoo Sports NBA betting: After losing Game 1, Bucks are now favored to win at Nets in Game 2
There is a lot of confidence in the Milwaukee Bucks in the betting market.
The Bucks lost Game 1 to the Brooklyn Nets and opened as a 2.5-point underdog for Game 2 at BetMGM. That spread has changed. And changed again. And again.
On Monday afternoon, the Bucks became favorites to win Game 2. They moved to -1 at BetMGM. That's a surprising move against a Nets team that is the clear favorite to win the NBA championship.
The Bucks lost Game 1. The game was close at halftime, but the Nets made a run to start the second half and the game never tightened up after that. The Nets won 115-107.
Of course, it was a costly game for the Nets. James Harden injured his hamstring in the first minute and has already been ruled out for Game 2. But the Nets still have Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and they already beat the Bucks in Game 1 without Harden.
The line movement has been interesting. The Bucks opened as 2.5-point underdogs — they were 3.5-point underdogs in Game 1 — and quickly moved to +2. On Sunday afternoon, the line moved again to +1.5 and then +1 in the evening. After the line bounced back to 1.5, it moved back to Nets -1 on Monday morning, and then on Monday afternoon the favorite flipped to Milwaukee.
The line move is even more curious considering most of the bets and money on the point spread were on the Nets as of Monday morning.
A 3.5-point move from an opening line in a high-profile NBA playoff game is fairly rare. It's even more unusual when you consider the Nets are +160 to win the NBA title and no other team is shorter than +375. The Nets are getting a huge majority of bets at BetMGM to win it all, as well.
The NBA championship favorite isn't even favored to win Game 2 of its second-round series at home. Though, based on the line movement so far, that line could change a few more times before tip-off.
