Aaron Brooks reaches deal with Rockets

The Houston Rockets have finalized an agreement to sign guard Aaron Brooks after he cleared waivers on Monday, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Brooks will sign the contract on Tuesday. The deal includes a team option for next season

Brooks agreed to a buyout with the Sacramento Kings on Friday.

Because Brooks was released before the midnight March 1 deadline, he is eligible to be on the postseason roster for another team.

Brooks signed a two-year, $6.6 million contract with the Kings over the summer. He's averaged eight points in just 21 minutes a game this season. The Kings have given increasing minutes to young guards Isaiah Thomas and Jimmer Fredette.

Brooks had his best season in the NBA with the Rockets three years ago, averaging 19 points and five assists per game.
