Kevin Martin to sign with Timberwolves

Kevin Martin has reached an agreement on a four-year, $28 million contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Martin's agreement comes after the Timberwolves also struck a deal to re-sign Chase Budinger for three years, $16 million.

Martin, 30, averaged 14 points on 45 percent shooting for the Oklahoma City Thunder this past season. He came to the Thunder as part of the preseason trade that sent James Harden to the Houston Rockets.

Martin has averaged 17.8 points in nine NBA seasons, distinguishing himself as a dependable 3-point threat.

The Thunder have been pursuing free-agent forward Dorell Wright as a possible replacement for Martin, league sources said.

USA Today first reported the Timberwolves made Martin a substantial offer.
