NASCAR truck to run South Carolina tribute scheme for Martinsville race

The University of South Carolina will be represented in the Camping World Truck Series this weekend.

Bolen Motorsports’ No. 66 truck will run a South Carolina paint scheme for Saturday’s race at Martinsville in honor of the Gamecocks’ Final Four appearances. Jeff Bolen, the team’s owner, went to South Carolina.

“What an honor it is to carry the Fighting Gamecocks along for our race this weekend,” he said in a release. “Gamecock fans are like none other and we look forward to the opportunity to showcase the success.”

Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams are playing in the Final Four. The women’s basketball team plays on Friday night vs. Stanford while the men play Gonzaga on Saturday evening. The truck race, which begins Saturday afternoon, is sandwiched in between.

If Chastain is involved in an accident, you don’t have to take it as an omen, South Carolina fans. Accidents happen frequently at the half-mile track. But if the women’s team loses Friday and Chastain is in a crash Saturday afternoon, it may be time to get a little nervous.
