NASCAR: Start times and TV networks for every Cup Series race in 2022

·3 min read

No NASCAR Cup Series race starts before 2 p.m. ET in 2022.

The 2022 Cup Series season features no races that start before Noon in the Pacific Time Zone. Every race through November starts at 3 p.m. ET or later and there are just three races in the playoffs that start at 2 p.m.

The season unofficially begins with the exhibition Busch Clash at the Los Angeles Coliseum on Feb. 6. It begins in earnest two weeks later with the Daytona 500. There's just one off weekend from the Daytona 500 through the title race at Phoenix on Nov. 6, a stretch of 37 races in 38 weeks counting the All-Star Race on May 22. The Daytona 500 is a week later than usual because the NFL's move to an 18-week regular season pushed the Super Bowl back a week. The Super Bowl is Feb. 13.

The trend of having more races on broadcast networks also continues. After 21 races were on cable networks in 2019 and 19 were on cable in 2021, 17 of 36 points races are on either Fox Sports 1 or USA and the rest are on Fox or NBC. USA becomes NBC's cable home for NASCAR races in 2022 as NBC Sports Network is set to shut down on Dec. 31.
