Naomi Osaka Begins Australian Open Title Defense With Dominant Win

After her win last year, Naomi Osaka is aiming to defend her title at the 2022 Australian Open. The tennis star kicked off the competition with a dominant 6-3, 6-3 win against Colombia's Camila Osorio.

This marks Osaka's return to the court after taking a fourth-month hiatus from tennis to take care of her mental health. Last year, she withdrew from the French Open after being fined for refusing to speak to the press, although she cited mental health as the main reason for her boycott.

Osaka won the Australian Open in 2019 and 2021, while Sofia Kenin won the title in 2020. The American athlete was defeated by Madison Keys, exiting the competition early for the second year in a row.

In case you missed it, Osaka debuted a limited-edition Aquaracer Professional 300 watch with TAG Heuer.
