MN: Thiago Silva to watch Milan-Red Star after Ibrahimovic’s Milanello invite
Zlatan Ibrahimovic invited Thiago Silva to Milanello for training today, but the Brazilian defender will also return to San Siro tomorrow night to watch AC Milan in action.
Whilst not linked to the 125th anniversary celebrations, Milan will have another former great in attendance at San Siro this week, albeit not at the game against Genoa – which is the ‘true’ day for celebrations.
Instead, Silva will be present for tomorrow’s game against Red Star Belgrade at San Siro after being back around Milanello this morning, as videos showed earlier today.
As Milan News reports, the defender arrived with the invitation from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and there he greeted the personnel before watching Paulo Fonseca’s training session in full, joined by Ibrahimovic, who has recently been cited as a reason why Antonio D’Ottavio is leaving the club.
If there are future plans that involve Silva and the Rossoneri, they are currently unknown, but with the Brazilian’s affinity to the club and him now being 40 years old, perhaps there could be consideration for a role at the club. Though, this has not been mentioned.
It has been almost 13 years since Silva left San Siro, and he will surely be given a welcomed reception back to the stadium with the defender still fondly remembered by the supporters.
