Missouri's Drew Lock sets SEC record for most TD passes in a season

Missouri Drew Lock now has the most touchdown passes in a single season of anyone in SEC history.

In the 48-45 win over Arkansas on Friday, Lock threw five touchdown passes to give him 43 on the season and eclipse a record held by Kentucky’s Andre Woodson. The former Wildcat QB set the record in 2007, breaking the record of 39 touchdowns previously held by Florida quarterback and Heisman winner Danny Wuerffel.

Lock entered the game with 38 touchdowns. The record-breaking touchdown pass came on a 10-yard pass to tight end Albert Okwuegbunam, his first of two scoring connections with Okwuegbunam in the game. Lock previously threw touchdowns to wide receiver Emanuel Hall and added another to J’Mon Moore.

It was the eighth-straight game Lock threw for three or more touchdowns. The Missouri offense has become one of the best in the nation as the Tigers have rebounded from a 1-5 start to win six-straight games, get bowl eligible and finish the regular season with seven wins.
